Millennial Magazine - Dylan Leslie Quote

The past summer, Dylan Leslie began working at the Connecticut Agriculture Experiment Station at Lockwood Farm in Hamden, CT, a state-run farm that experiments with agricultural production. It was during his senior year of college as a Biology Major at Central Connecticut State University that he was advised by his professor to apply to Lockwood Farms as an intern. Being an avid outdoorsman since his childhood, it didn’t take long for him to develop a passion for plants and a deep connection with nature, which is why working on a farm was such a perfect fit.

As a man of science, Dylan is especially excited to work alongside farmers and other scientists who are experimenting with different plant species. In addition to the vast amount of knowledge he is gaining from this experience, Dylan loves that the farm is not commercial but rather donates their harvests to local food pantries and soup kitchens. He believes it is more important than ever to know where your food comes from and hopes to one day have a farm of his own.
