Millennial Magazine - Fiume Simnacher Quote

Joan Kuhl is a true renaissance woman. She is an active millennial career coach, podcast host, international speaker, and Barnes & Noble college career expert, in addition to, authoring the Washington Post Best Seller: Peter Drucker’s Five Most Important Questions.

A go-getter from the start, Joan earned her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, where she also served as Student Government President. During her freshmen year of college, she received her private pilot’s license.

After obtaining her undergraduate degree, she went on to earn an MBA from Rutgers University and studied global business strategies in Beijing and Shanghai, China. Entering into the workforce in her early 20s, Joan launched her career in the pharmaceutical industry where she spent over 13 years as a leader at three global companies focusing on sales, account management, marketing, training and organizational effectiveness.

All the while, she stayed active on college campuses and in her community as both a mentor and coach. After a decade of speaking engagements, she decided to follow her passion in life and launch Why Millennials Matter, a Gen-Y research, training and consulting agency based in New York City.

In addition to her consulting business, she also serves as a Board Member for the Frances Hesselbein Leadership Institute, the Magee Women’s Hospital Research Institute as well as Cosmopolitan Magazine’s inaugural Millennial Board of Advisors.

Of everything she has achieved over the course of her career, one of her proudest contributions is the pivotal role she played in launching the Hesselbein Global Academy (HGA) for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement which aims to produce a cadre of experienced, ethical leaders equipped to address critical issues throughout the world.

Like most millennial businesswomen, Joan successfully juggles her day to day with work and family life. Her daughter, Addison, is regularly by her side and she stresses the importance of being an attentive parent.Divider-32
