A refreshing new take on jazz, a boundary pusher, fearless, outside the box and soulful!

How are you making jazz cool to this generation of Millennials?

I’m making it cool by presenting my authentic self. I’m composing music that’s easy to digest to any listener by merging all my influences that include hip-hop, R&B, gospel and rock.

In addition to being a musician, you recently debuted your acting skills as Snoop Dogg’s lead guitar player on the first season of the hit television show Empire! Tell us about that experience, and will you continue acting?

Hanging with Snoop is like being 10 years old and hanging out with your 17 year old cousin. You’ll actually see me this fall in a couple of scenes on a new show coming to the Oxygen Channel – Pretty Strong.

What would you like to see happen in your career in the next five years?

I’d like to win a Grammy.

Which professional dream is going to be the next one to come true for you?
