Monorail of the Week: Osaka Monorail

The Osaka Monorail in Osaka, Japan is one of the strongest in the world. Since 1990, it has transported citizens from the center of the city to surrounding areas. Unlike other systems, it connects to the bus systems as well.

Currently transporting over 100,000 people per day, the Osaka Monorail will eventually possess over 50 km of track that will extend across the bustling city and connect to a university as well as a new community being built. The monorail has withstood a monumental earthquake and is still being extended to provide a more convenient trip for passengers wishing to bypass the busy streets of Osaka.
