We tend to hear a lot about romantic travel destinations all around the world. And there’s also a lot out there about the best places to visit for food lovers. But what about romantic destinations for foodies?

Plenty of people who love to try delicious and new foods wind up with partners who have similar interests. This can make cuisine-centric travel all the more incredible. There’s plenty of overlap between romantic locations and those that are known for terrific food (and drink). Finding the right one for you and your partner can make for an unforgettable experience.

But where should you look specifically for such a place? Here are five destinations you might want to consider.

Negril, Jamaica

A Caribbean getaway is an appealing option to most couples, and it’s hard to find too many places more naturally beautiful than western Jamaica. Yes, the country is more known for tourism than some of its Caribbean counterparts (meaning you may see a bit more people and a little more Western culture there), but that doesn’t diminish the charms of Negril.

This particular town is known for its white sand beaches, including the Seven Mile Beach where bars and restaurants are situated. Meanwhile, Epicurious singled the same destination out for our other distinction: foodie appeal. In an article on the best Caribbean vacations for foodies, island street food, fresh seafood, jerk shacks, and dishes infused with coconuts and rum were all praised.

Hong Kong, China

Hong Kong may not be the first place that comes to mind for a romantic getaway, but it’s an extraordinary city with some of the most beautiful urban scenery you’ll find in the world. Whether by hiking some of the peaks surrounding the city or booking a day in a sailboat on the bay, there are all kinds of lovely activities to get into with your significant other.

And on top of them all, Hong Kong has also become more and more noteworthy for its variety of fun cuisines in recent years. Dim sum has always taken center stage at this particular destination, but international options and other inventive dishes have also become part of the area’s food culture. You’ll find elegant French eateries, Spanish-inspired tapas, noodle bars, and even fried ice cream.

Seville, Spain

Seville was actually written about relatively recently as one of the ten most romantic cities in the world, as part of an editorial that had nothing to do with food specifically. The article came from Lottoland, which is primarily an online branch of the Irish lottery, and was no doubt meant to provide some luxurious vacation ideas for those hoping to win big.

At any rate, it’s hard to beat this often overlooked Spanish city for romance. Known for its exquisite architecture, Spanish wines, and flamenco dancing, Seville is a fun place for all different kinds of couples. Horse-drawn carriage rides are an option, but for romantic foodies some of the main attractions will be the picturesque tapas bars showcasing the best of the country’s cuisine. Tapas makes for a fun meal to share, as well as some wonderful flavor.

Santorini, Greece

If you’re unfamiliar with the specifics of the Greek islands, Santorini is the one that makes it on most postcards. It’s a bit of an atypical island paradise in that it’s primarily made up of a town on top of a cliff jutting out of the Aegean Sea.

There are beaches on one side of the island, but the real attraction is the spread of shocking white buildings situated above the beautiful water. You’ll find winding stone streets, blue domes, and, needless to say, some extraordinarily romantic vistas.

Santorini isn’t specifically singled out as a foodie destination too frequently, but the cuisine throughout the Greek islands is wonderful for many foreign travelers. Baked moussaka (something like a Greek vegetable lasagna), meat skewers, fresh seafood, feta salads, and delectable baklava desserts are just a few of the culinary attractions.

Paris, France

Perhaps it’s almost boring to include Paris on this list, but it would be inappropriate not to. There’s an argument to be made that this is both the most romantic destination in the world and the capital for food lovers.

Of course, neither position is official, but it’s hard to deny the appeal of sitting at a Parisian café with someone you love, maybe on a nice day in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower.
