Snow who?

If you think winters in New York City are reserved for blizzards and obnoxious temperatures, you are right. But you are also right to think this is the greatest, most inspiring city in the world and its inhabitants can put on a show no matter the circumstances. February in NYC can be just as exciting as any other month. After all, this city does not stop. Ever. Here are some of the best things happening in NYC during this 29-day stretch.

Picasso Sculpture Exhibit

Millennial Magazine - MoMA-PabloPicasso-Sculpture-body

The first weekend in February presents the last chance to see one of the most impressive collections of sculptures brought to the United States in nearly half a century. The Picasso Sculpture exhibit at MoMA features more than 100 sculptures, focusing on the artist’s lifelong work and homing in on his use of materials and methods. The exhibition is organized in chapters, showcasing the distinct periods in which Picasso devoted his creative energy to sculpture. This weekend the museum is granting special access to the exhibit after museum hours.

The People’s Market NYC

Millennial Magazine - The-People's-Market

At the inaugural People’s Market NYC at House of Yes you can get to know a community of artists, collectors, makers, foodies and influencers who are coming together to celebrate the independent spirit of entrepreneurs and creative minds. It’s very Brooklyn, but in the coolest, least insufferable way, with an emphasis on local, handmade, eco, sustainable, holistic and vintage goods.

Where: 2 Wyckoff Ave., Bushwick, Brooklyn
When: Feb. 13, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Dope Jams Valentine’s Day Ball

Millennial Magazine - Valentine's-Day-Ball

The Valentine’s Day Ball is a highlight on the Dope Jams calendar. This year, Slow to Speak and Portugal’s DJ Tiago will make sure V-Day is legitimately fun for everyone — all you have to do is get lost in the music and feel the love on the dance floor. Slow to Speak are the brains behind the Dope Jams and Perserved Instincts record shops, so good music is guaranteed. It all goes down at 10 p.m. on February 13 at GoodRoom.

Where: 98 Meserole Ave., Greenpoint, Brooklyn
When: Feb. 13, 10 p.m.-4 a.m.

Wintry Cocktails at The Edition

Millennial Magazine - The-Lobby-Bar

Cocktails by the fireplace: the ultimate motivation for getting off the couch when it’s 20-ish degrees outside. As far as we’re concerned, Lobby Bar at The New York Edition has the sleekest setup in all of Manhattan. Since its openng in May of last year, the Edition has quickly become an icon, with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook Madison Square Park and a menu of stylish craft cocktails. We recommend A Stiff Welcome: Hendrick’s gin, Grey Goose vodka, Lillet Blanc and a lemon twist.

Where: 5 Madison Ave. (entrance on E. 24th St.), Flatiron
When: Daily, 7 a.m.-2 a.m. (food service till 10 p.m.)

Cocktails with Friends at Sixty Soho

Millennial Magazine - sixty-soho

Jason Pomeranc’s downtown Sixty Soho Hotel is going against the grain and bringing a little grit back to the swanky ‘hood. Cocktails with Friends is a new weekly evening with curated hosts and DJs spinning rock ‘n’ roll for the night owls. The Gordon Bar will be playing oldies, new wave, indie rock and classics for an edgier after-dinner-drink experience.

Where: 60 Thompson St., Soho
When: Thurs., 10 p.m.

Dance and Rituals

Millennial Magazine - yoga-nyc

Staying grounded in NYC takes effort. Instead of rushing to a hectic gym class, try a Dance and Rituals workshop at the Narayana Integrative Center. The workshop blends spiritual and conscious movement therapy techniques designed to revitalize your intentional space, cleanse your chakras, open your heart to universal love and achieve inner harmony. It starts with a round of meditation and breathwork, followed by a reading of a sacred spirit story and incantations. Warm up with a tai chi-yoga combo, followed by an energetic movement practice in seven rhythms set to sacred music. It’s open to all levels.

Where: 191 Nassau Ave., Greenpoint, Brooklyn
When: Feb. 28, 6-8 p.m.
