A unique musician with inherent character who combines the tribal sound of old cultures with modern instruments and the influence of music from around the world.

Magnutze has a very unique and personal touch that he gives the music no matter if he’s performing Live or plays a DJ set where he abducts you on a journey through sound with remarkable rhythm which you also find in Magnutze’s own music productions and remixed tracks.

Just set pause and listen.

If you could play one track anywhere, which one would it be and where would you want it played?

The 2013 release from the label Serkal “David Gtronic – An Underground Story (Original Mix)” on the sound system from my broga friends Justin & Co. who are from San Francisco. They are responsible for the Nexus Stage at Burning Man.

Magnutze and Berlin. Describe this relationship.

“Berlin ist nicht fertig und doch am ende” – fg1311

“Berlin is not finished but also at its end.” This quote brings it pretty on point what I love about Berlin.

What is the story behind your impressive body art?

The book Modern Primitives from 1989 inspired me to look closer into body modification and sat the first stepping stone for a long and interesting, body and mind changing journey. It is not just body art it is a state of mind for me.

How does performing in the open air effect your choice of tracks when you are performing?

To perform outside with fresh air is always more free or even spiritual. I play tracks that need to breath and are made to gather people so we have a journey together. Everyone on Mother Earth, even herself can feel the beat and dive into the frequencies. The healing power of music can work. I choose songs with a story that is not really made for dark and foggy clubs.
