Millennial Magazine - Shaina-Quote

Shaina Zeiger’s passion for interior design began in childhood. As the daughter of an interior designer she was exposed to the magical world of textiles, sorting through piles of the most amazing patterns and color combinations she’d ever seen. When she was old enough, she would accompany her mom to fabric showrooms, later becoming her assistant and designing pillows for the first time. Her fascination for textiles from all over the world grew through her extensive travels.

Shaina went on to obtain her BA in Fine Art from the University of Oregon, where she developed an interest in sustainable design and social change. Upon graduating, she searched for a career that would combine all her passions. Shaina knew she nailed it when she dreamed up Dandy Handmade, a business that uses upcycled goods and provides revenue for non-profits dedicated to improving the lives of our homeless population. Her position as sales associate and designer at Flor, a progressive business that designs and produces environmentally friendly carpet tile, helps sustain Dandy Handmade.
