Daniel Trust: Youth Motivational Speaker
Born in Gisenyi, Daniel Trust is a Rwandan genocide survivor who immigrated to the United States as a refugee in 2005 when he was 15. Nine years later, at 25, he is an American citizen, college graduate, and an accomplished motivational speaker. He is also the founder of the Daniel Trust Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 2009 that helps teens plan their education and careers with meaning and purpose. The foundation rewards high school students (with scholarships) and teachers (with grants) who give back to causes they are truly passionate about in their communities through community service and activism in hopes of making this word a better place. This year, the Daniel Trust Foundation awarded $16,000 in scholarships to eight student leaders from California, Connecticut and Georgia.
As a motivational speaker, Daniel has been invited to share his inspirational story at universities including Duke University, University of Florida, Miami University, Hofstra University, University of Connecticut, University of New Haven, Illinois Institute of Technology, and Fairfield University.
