Ciera McKissick: Editor of AMFM Magazine
From poems and small bits of fiction to one act plays and even screenplays, Ciera McKissick has been writing all her life. Growing up, it was her dream to have her own magazine, and she often created mock versions out of old notebooks. Her passion for music and the arts was highly ecouraged by her family. From trips with her father to gallery nights in Milwaukee, creative inspiration from her mother, and memories of her great grandmother shuttling her to piano lessons, Ciera grew up surrounded by love and support.
Never being an artist in the “traditional sense,” Ciera wanted to marry her passion for the arts with writing which lead to her vision of AMFM Magazine. After many journalism and web internships, she designed and created her first online issue of AMFM in an independent study project during her senior year of college.
Ciera now publishes special city issues when a place on the map leaves a place in her heart. She combines art, music, and community events with a natural Q & A editorial style, demonstrating her genuine love for people and talent for telling quality human stories.
