Appetizer of the Week: Dim Sum

Dim Sum is a tasty and affordable Asian appetizer. It originated in Canton, China and can be compared to Spanish Tapas. This simple tea snack comes in a variety of forms, including dumplings, rolls, and cakes. The varieties of dumplings include shrimp, rice, pork, and purple taro which can be fried or steamed to perfection. The rolls most commonly include shrimp, chicken, or pork wrapped in steamed rice noodles or tofu skin. Vegetable dishes are also available and include turnip and taro cake.

Dim sum prices vary from $2-6 for each plate.
