Millennial Magazine - lindseypelas-2

Best known as “Instagram’s Ultimate Southern Belle,” and one of MAXIM’s favorite girls, world renowned supermodel and social media mogul Lindsey Pelas is tackling an entirely new beast with the release of her highly anticipated lifestyle podcast, “Eyes Up Here with Lindsey Pelas”.

Blonde and brainy, Pelas takes her more than 11+ million combined social media fans on a wild ride discussing her take on life, pop culture, the ins and outs of Hollywood from her perspective, fun and insightful conversations with her celebrity friends and guests, as well as commentary on hot topic issues and current events. MiLLENNiAL sat down with Pelas to learn more about the new project.

Share the story and inspiration behind your podcast “Eyes Up Here”.

I was actually encouraged to do my own podcast after appearing on a few others. A lot of hosts really liked my energy and said they got great feedback when I joined them.  I also have a pretty large and active Twitter following. I thought a podcast would be the best place to connect more with them.

What do you hope to accomplish with this new project?

At first, I wasn’t all too sure what my goal or approach was… I just wanted to connect.  After a while I realized I was naturally setting out to change social stigmas, whether related to myself or others.  That’s been the recurring theme of my show.

Describe yourself as an entrepreneur and how you became a voice for millennials.

I think like any entrepreneur, I’d describe the experience a bit messy. It’s not easy to create a living on your own merit AT ALL, but it’s been such a learning experience.  When it came to producing my annual calendar, I really just wanted to create something my followers would really love… it’s only after a while and a few invoices and tax payments you think “Holy shit! I think I’m in the business of online publishing, how did it do that??”

If you could collaborate with anybody dead or alive, who would it be?

I have a deep mystery of Brittany Murphy.  I also have this intuition that successful people borrow energy from each other so bumping shoulders with someone super influential like Oprah could send me on the right path.

What is the best part of your job?

Life is never boring. I couldn’t stand a boring, monotonous life.

Tell us about your experience working on Kanye West’s YEEZY Season 6 Campaign.

I was so happy to be a part of YEEZY Season 6.  The concept of the shoot was so original and fun. I wish I could be dressed like that every day.

Name some of the influences for your work.

I love the careers of Carmen Electra, Jenny McCarthy and Kelly Ripa.  I am also really inspired by women and friends I know like Emily Sears, Ana Cheri and Arianny Celeste.

What is the overall message you wish to communicate to your supporters?

I guess my overall message to my supporters would be one of gratitude. I don’t think of anyone as my fan, more like a friend I haven’t met.

What can we find you doing next?

Within the next year you’ll hear more from my podcast and my 2019 calendar release! I will also be upping my game with more campaigns and tv and film opportunities! Can’t wait.
