How Valve’s Steam Deck Affects PC Gaming
Valve has been the hot topic of discussion lately because they have finally jumped into the business of handheld gaming devices by introducing their very first handheld gaming device called “Steam Deck” on which you could play any game from your library, fans are already calling it Nintendo Switch of PC gaming and that is for strong reasons.
The device has shown great promise; it appears that Steam Deck is fit enough to make it big from all the hands-on reviews, meaning it might just overtake the world of gaming devices! Here is the deal about this new device.
Keep your PC in your POCKET!
Steam Deck isn’t really a gaming console, it’s more of a portable PC which you can plug into a TV or a Monitor and do all that you can do on a desktop computer like surf the web or stream videos. Valve has built a new Linux based operating system for their device called SteamOS, and it is going to be fully compatible with windows, you could even uninstall SteamOS and install windows instead.
The prices vary as there are 3 different variants in the steam deck depending on the memory. The prices to me seem quite fair when compared to other ways of gaming which are sky high in terms of prices. All three versions have a built-in micro SD slot to increase the memory if you want, however the highest 512-GB variant is equipped with an SSD which will surely enhance the device’s performance.
You can just about play any PC game on the device but I am mostly excited to get my hands on a Fortnite account to test it out on this portable device!
Play all your PC games ON-THE-GO
Steam Deck is going to prove to be a game changer according to me, for it isn’t really a console. It is a portable upgrade that PC gamers have probably been waiting for without even realizing it. Steam Deck is exactly something that you would look for if you are looking for a powerful handheld device that runs all your favorite PC games. It’s a rectangle device with a 7-inch LCD touchscreen with two thumb-sticks, it’s almost an inch larger than the Nintendo Switch.
The Steam Deck sure does seem a little too good to be true because of all the power that’s packed into a small device which will enable PC gaming on the go. Finally, a massive problem that PC gaming has always been criticized for is going to be overcome with the launch of this device adding portability to the world of PC gaming. Another great thing about Steam Deck is that it is designed to support local multiplayer and cooperative play which is another great addition to the portable PC’s features. But would I be able to play GTA online and pull off a bunch of heists to earn a ton of money in gta online, wherever I am? Well, I just might!
Steam Deck for sure is a game changer because PC gaming has suffered immovability for a long time now, it’s about time you carry your favorite games, your steam library right in your pocket and access it anywhere you want, that’s what this device is going to give us and it is surely going to make it big.
