Not every Millennial likes to do the same things, the same as any generation. However, some industries seem to thrive in 2022, thanks to Millennials.

If you belong to this generation, you probably recognize the Millennial activities on this list. If you’re someone marketing to this age group, you should keep in mind that they like these pastimes.

Car Shopping and Driving

The Millennial generation seems to enjoy car shopping and the automotive lifestyle. Some of them have disposable income now, and those that do might want to spend some of that cash on a new vehicle.

Data shows that most Millennials seem to like stylish cars, but also practical ones. They like the Honda Accord and the Honda Civic. They also seem to like the Toyota Corolla and Camry. The Nissan Altima also does well with this age group.

There’s nothing wrong with enjoying the automotive world. One issue exists, though: over 6 million car accidents happen in the United States each year, and Millennials doing dangerous things cause some of them.

Millennials grew up with smartphones. Nearly all of them have one, and they might like to check their messages or glance at social media while driving.

This behavior can cause car accidents, and distracted driving often plays a part when one Millennial driver hits another. If you belong to this group, avoid using your smartphone until you’ve reached your destination and turned off the vehicle.

The Camping Fad

Other generation members like camping, but Millennials seem to enjoy it more than most. Camping is a fine way to get back to nature and avoid society for a while. Millennials seem to like that idea, and many of them flock to the woods and national parks during the spring, summer, and early fall months.

Millennials who like camping often buy tents, sleeping bags, water bottles, and various cooking paraphernalia if they want to create an outdoor meal. They continue pushing the camping industry to create more useful items that consumers will eagerly buy.

If you’re a Millennial and you like camping, that can clear your head and get you away from all the noise and tumult if you live in a major city. You can come back to the world refreshed and ready to reengage with your job and family.

Just remember to watch out for dangers like bears, ticks, and sun exposure. Know what you might encounter in the wild and prepare for it before you go. Also, try sticking to trails, so you don’t lose yourself in the more rugged locales.

Gyms and the Exercise Industry

Millennials also like keeping fit, for the most part. They like going to gyms and working out, either on their own or with others, as part of a guided class. They might enjoy lifting free weights, using an exercise bike, or doing a yoga or spin class.

Some others like Pilates or martial arts. They might enjoy meeting up with their friends to head to these classes together. They may push each other to work out harder than they would on their own.

Others feel okay about home workouts. They might get a yoga mat or an exercise bike like a Peloton. Some like subscription services that let them attend live classes from their own homes. Others enjoy following along with prerecorded lesson plans that teach them how to stay fit.

If you belong to the Millennial generation and you like to stay fit, think about what will work best for you if you hope to tone and tighten or drop a few pounds. You might enjoy staying at home if you’re a little shy or you don’t have the spare time to travel to an external location for a workout. You may prefer to head to a gym or yoga studio if you can find one close by and you have some workout buddies that motivate you.

The Travel Industry

In every generation, some people like travel, while others don’t. Those who like traveling often have disposable income. Again, Millennials are now at the point where some of them have that, and those that do might want to spend that money on travel and vacations more than anything else.

Millennials have not traveled as much for the past couple of years because of the pandemic, but that’s changing now. Many individuals and families from this generation feel like they can travel in 2022 because of vaccines and booster shots.

If you belong to the Millennial generation and want to travel this year, think about what US location you most want to visit and look for deals that can get you there. You may also choose to check out international destinations if you’re looking for an even more ambitious trip.

Remember to mask up as you’re traveling. The pandemic isn’t over, and you don’t want to have to deal with Covid-19 while you’re far from home.

Gaming

The gaming industry also thrives, and Millennials play into that quite a bit. Many Millennials grew up playing with systems like the original NES. They probably moved on to the Sega Genesis and the Super Nintendo before getting into the X-Box series or the PlayStation models.

Now, you might have a Millennial who continues playing video games and has for several decades. Some might stop playing because they have to care for their kids or work long hours, but many still find the time. They might like the fantasy, sci-fi, or horror worlds that popular titles introduce to them.

If you like gaming and belong to this generation, you might spend your time and money on new systems and games. The graphics and storylines continue advancing, and you get amazing game quality when you compare it to systems from the 80s and 90s.

If you stopped gaming for a while, you might come back to it. It’s fun escapism that will let you blow off some steam on your downtime before you have to return to the real world.
