Thrift Shop of the Week: Battery Street Jeans
Slightly off-the-beaten (cobblestoned) track of Church Street –the urban center of Burlington, Vermont– Battery Street Jeans is everything an avid thrifter, vintage-seeking, semi-broke college or grad student could ask for. The tiny, one room brick building offers vintage tees with crazy slogans, puffy 70s prom dresses, and all sorts of unimaginable knick-knacks from pin-up postcards to ceramic cats and old telephones. But not all inventory is old– tucked away in several of the racks hide Vermont-made artisan clothes from local artists, you just have to find ’em.
