If your home is like most, then almost every member of the family has an electronic device of some kind. Cords are usually plugged into a wall, and there are some cords that seem to go missing in all rooms of the house. Instead of losing all of the cords that everyone needs, make a charging station in an area of the home that is convenient for each person to charge their devices.

Basic Stations

You can make a basic charging station with a box and a few other materials. Find a box that will hold the devices and cords that everyone has, such as a cigar box. Put a hole in the back of the box to run a cord that plugs into the wall.

You can keep the box on a table in the living room or hallway since these are areas where family members walk through most of the day. Place devices in the box so that they are connected to the cord. An option is to connect two cords to the one that is going to the wall so that the devices in the box can charge at the same time.

Fun With LEGOs

If you want to get a little creative, then create a fun charging station that is made of LEGOs. Design the station so that it looks like a video game. You can get the cords that you need for the devices that are charged from companies like Americord. Position the device that is charging inside a hole created by the LEGO blocks with one person on each side of the station to make it look like they are playing a game.

Small Bags

Keep all of the cords and USB components in a small makeup or toiletry bag so that they don’t get lost. Set the bag on a common table in the home so that everyone knows where to charge their devices. This is also an option you can take with you when you’re traveling so that everything is together when you get to the hotel or while you’re in the car.

Tool Station

Instead of just phones and other devices at the charging station, you can create a small tool station as well. The tools can hang on the bottom of the station while the phones and other electronics sit on top while they are charging. You can make a drawer or cabinet in the station to hold the accessories that go with the devices so that they aren’t left out all the time.

A charging station is an idea to consider when everyone in the home wants to keep their devices fully charged. You can get the supplies you need at most retail and hardware stores. Before making your charging station, look around the home to find the best place to put it so that it will benefit everyone, including visitors.
