If you love to throw parties, then the first three months of 2018 is a wonderful opportunity to get together with close friends and family to celebrate. Good food prepared at home, beautiful decorations and fun activities make these events extraordinary. Here are three parties to host in the first three months of 2018:

January 4th: National Spaghetti Day

National Spaghetti Day is a great way to start off the year. While some will want to make delicious traditional spaghetti, others may want to set up a pasta bar as there are over 350 types of pasta. Since spaghetti is originally from China, you can decorate with many unique Chinese decorations like Chinese lanterns and paper dragons. Since spaghetti tends to get messy, cover the table with plastic tablecloths printed with Chinese designs. Everyone can try to learn to write their name in Chinese or play with a Chinese yo-yo.

February 13th: Mardi Gras

If you cannot travel to Mobile, Alabama or New Orleans this year for Mardi Gras, then create your own Mardi Gras party. Invite everyone to make a mask using sequins, feathers and glitter. Make sure that you have plenty of beads, like those from Mardi Gras Supplies, on hand so that everyone can get into the party spirit. You can even host a contest to see who can make the best mask. Set a table using gold, green and purple as those are the official Mardi Gras colors. Serve a great Cajun feast like jambalaya or po’ boy sandwiches. After the meal, let everyone create a costume so that you can put on your own Mardi Gras parade.

March 17th: St Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is on a Saturday this year making it a great time to gather with friends and family. Green smoothies, green ginger ale or green ice cream in a root beer float are all great drinks to get everyone in the party spirit. Go on a scavenger hike to see who can find the most four-leaved clovers. Learn to dance an Irish jig or the reel. End the party by dining on Irish stew or corned beef and cabbage. You can even give out prizes to the person wearing the most green to your party.

There are many reasons to celebrate in the first three months of 2018. Use these ideas to start planning a party now. Get the invitations in the mail because it will be an exciting time at your house.
