All New Professions to Consider in the Digital Age

Millennial Magazine - digital-age

Sometimes, finding a job is harder than you think, there are a lot of unemployed people in the world, but some have chosen a totally different approach! Using the current technology, many have tried to create their own business, their own brand, or even a whole new career path! Basically, technology opened a lot of doors and opportunities for those who can’t or who don’t want to work a nine-to-five office job, and can still have a comfy life! Here are new professions to consider in the digital age!

A Live Streamer

Like to play video games and have a camera lying around? Why not try to be a live streamer! It all comes down to recording yourself in real-time while playing a certain video game, the funds come from your viewers and followers who can subscribe to your channel on your desired streaming platform, and you are good to go. It’s extremely fun, and it can be pretty lucrative, especially if you are good at playing video games, but the downside of this is the fact that it does take some time to establish a watcher base! They can later send you gifts via the streaming platform while you stream the gameplay, or they can contribute by being a subscriber and paying a monthly fee.

Digital Assistant

Are you familiar with the ends and outs of social media, have a good understanding of computers and how certain things work, like to take orders and follow a plan – there might just be a job for you! Being someone’s assistant means you are left hand, and thanks to technology, you can try becoming a virtual assistant and make that your full-time job! Even if the job changes from client to client, some things are just universal when it comes to being a digital assistant. Your duty would be helping out your client manage their ‘’digital’’ side, answering emails, updating and customizing websites, research, social media management, and similar things like that. This can be a side hustle, or you can totally focus on just doing so.

Graphic Designer

Now, graphic design has been around for such a long time, and it never seems as though it’s going to run out of style. People love working on aesthetically pleasing posters, logos, and art pieces, so no wonder it blew up as a career in the recent yours. The freedom to create a schedule according to your daily plan is truly what sets this job apart. And the good thing is, it’s the perfect time to promote your creations, as a social media algorithm never fails you, so just put yourself out there, maybe even start doing this as a hobby, and once you feel like taking over full time, you’ll know it!

Web and App Designer

These two types of developers are similar, but they are not to be mistaken for each other! Both play with the concepts of creating something digitally, as web designers focus more on the desktop and the computer as well, while on the other hand, app developers focus on making and researching applications. Both can be done at home, you can be a solo developer, working on multiple projects for multiple brands and companies, or you can have one client or company to work under. It all depends on your skills and availability!

Digital Nomad

Traveling the world is such an exciting thing to do, but many simply don’t have the money nor the time to do so! Instead of yearning for that life, why don’t you go out and live it as a digital nomad – work from wifi, and explore new cities in your off time. This is kind of a joker career, as you can practically do whatever – from being a social media influencer and documenting your travels, so your audience can fund it by subbing and liking your content.

Translator

Do you know how to speak multiple languages fluently? Why not use this to your advantage and create a business out of it! A lot of people are demanding a translator, regardless if it’s for a document, a text, or a full-blown book! The good thing about this is that you can find specific companies and specifically translate for them, or you can go do freelance and translate a variety of things. It all depends on what you want to do really!

At the end of the day, professionals come and go, you can always change it if you don’t like it and start doing something new without leaving the comforts of your home! Just know your skill levels and ambitions when it comes to the chosen career and stick to them!
