Options to Turn To When Funds Are Running Low

It’s tough, right now. The economy is struggling, millions are out of work, and we can’t even see our best friends to complain and whine about it over a beer or fruity cocktail. In short, everything sucks. One of the biggest things that make people worry is how long the money that they currently have is going to last them, and what they can do to make it stretch a little further.

If you’re in the US, you’re likely waiting for your stimulus check to come through. This could still take a week or so, depending on where you are. If you’re currently facing money struggles, here are some options to turn to when your funds are running low.

Sell Your Stuff

Yeah, selling your stuff is never good, but if you’re on the brink of relying solely on bread and instant noodles for the foreseeable future, it might be your only option. While you, like many others, are struggling for cash, there is still likely to be a demand for books, clothes, and even old gadgets or devices that you’ve long graduated from.

You can even consider high-value items, such as home gym equipment or games consoles. As so many people are stuck inside and unable to do their usual routine, you are sure to find someone willing to purchase this equipment for a sensible price.

Cancel Disused Services

From long-forgotten subscription services to contracts that you’re not currently using, you can ring companies and see whether they can waive any fees while you are struggling for money. In many cases, you won’t even need to cancel the subscription outright, but instead, put it on hold, or just pay a percentage of the full price.

You must remember that these businesses are likely struggling, too, so not all services will be able to accommodate your requests, but you’ll never know where to free up some monthly funds if you don’t ask.

Something Different

If all else fails, you can always try something different. You can get emergency funds for a range of different needs by looking into title loans online while giving your bank a quick call, and asking their policy over credit card payments could offer you some respite for the next few months.

It is understandable that you don’t want to rely on loans or handouts during this time, but as no one could have seen this coming, at least not of such a magnitude, you can put your pride to the side for a little while. Hopefully, you will be in a more comfortable position once everything returns to normal.

Fast Cash

It’s never a pleasant feeling having to ditch your possessions or rely on others to get by, but if you’ve exhausted all other options, the choice is often not your to make. While it can be hard to sell off items, ditch luxuries, or try something different, it will at least keep you afloat while you wait for everything to get back to normal, or at least as normal as everything can be.
