Gem of the week: Turquoise

Turquoise is one of the oldest known gem materials- perhaps “the oldest stone in man’s history, the talisman of kings, shamans, and warriors.” Known to many as a stone of protection, turquoise is strong and opaque, yet soothing to the touch and healing to the eye. Its unique shade of blue, often blue-green, lends it name, Turquoise, to all things of this tranquil hue.

Turquoise is ancient, yet again and again, it finds itself back in fashion. Its shining sky blue is one of the most popular trend colours in the world of jewelry and fashion.
