Summer has always been a season built around gathering. Longer days, hot nights, and a natural desire to spend more time outside with other people. That made the Summer Solstice the perfect backdrop for SOLARA, The Ritual Collective’s newest event series, an experience designed to bring together wellness, music, movement, and nightlife in an intentional and meaningful way.
Las Vegas, AKA Sin City, is best known for its masterful spectacles: massive productions, world-class entertainment, packed nightclubs, and experiences designed to leave a lasting impression. But as someone who has spent years working behind the scenes in live events, I’ve noticed something interesting happening here. People are looking for something beyond just another place to go out. They’re looking for experiences that make them feel connected.
SOLARA stands out because it wasn’t built around simply entertaining people for a few hours. It was built around creating an environment where people can actually engage and connect with the space and those around them.
Hosted by The Ritual Collective at Durango Casino’s Bel-Aire Backyard in celebration of the Summer Solstice, SOLARA brought together wellness activations, live music, movement, art, and nightlife into one cohesive experience. The result felt like an elevated take on soft clubbing, where connection and well-being shared the spotlight with music and celebration.

SOLARA wasn’t just a yoga/workout class, wellness activations, and an electronic music dance party. The entire experience was designed around creating opportunities for people to slow down, explore, and connect in whatever way felt natural.
For a city known for high-energy entertainment, it offered a different kind of Vegas experience.
Ritual Collective founder Dana Kay described the inspiration behind the event:
“All of my events come from a place of wanting to build community and create connection. SOLARA was the first event where we partnered with a big casino. I realized I needed a larger platform to have the social impact that I wanted, and the community was growing. SOLARA was an answer to that, to start bringing people together and bring in the elements of dancing and partying in a very intentional way. We like to call it wellness meets nightlife. SOLARA was a way for us to kick that off at Ritual Collective.”
That vision was apparent from the moment guests arrived.
A Different Kind of Vegas Experience
The Ritual Collective has become part of a growing movement in Las Vegas focused on creating experiences that blend wellness, creativity, and community. While wellness events have become increasingly popular, Ritual Collective’s approach feels distinct because the focus isn’t just on individual activities; it’s based on how those things bring people together.
Walking into Bel-Aire Backyard, that difference was immediately noticeable.

Guests dressed in shimmering gold moved throughout the space, embracing the Summer Solstice theme of abundance, energy, and renewal. Instead of a traditional nightlife layout centered around a stage or bar, the venue encouraged exploration. People gathered in small groups, discovered different activations, and moved through the space at their own pace.
From a production standpoint, that was one of the things I found most impressive. Every element had a purpose. The activations didn’t compete with one another; they worked together to create a natural flow throughout the evening. Guests weren’t being pushed from one moment to the next; they were given the freedom to create their own experience.
Throughout the venue, each activation offered a different way to participate. Ritual Zero Proof and Flecha Azul provided beverage experiences that encouraged conversation. Simultaneously, Shakti Sanctuary’s Poolside Oasis Lounge created a quieter space for guests who wanted to step away from the energy of the main event. A curated marketplace featuring local businesses also gave attendees a chance to discover Las Vegas makers and creatives.
The result was an event that felt less like a collection of separate attractions and more like a carefully considered environment where people could genuinely spend time together.
Welcoming the Longest Day of the Year
SOLARA began just before sunset with a yoga and breathwork session led by Dana Kay, accompanied by a live DJ performance that immediately challenged expectations of what a wellness experience could look like.
Rather than soft background music and quiet instruction, rhythmic electronic beats created a steady pulse beneath the movement practice. Breath synchronized with bass lines as guests flowed through yoga postures beneath the changing colors of the Las Vegas skyline.

The Rhythmic Movement Flow to a Live DJ Set by Dana Kay created a unique transition point – moving guests away from the stress of the workweek and into a more intentional state of mind. The experience wasn’t asking participants to disconnect from music; it used music as a tool for deeper presence.
Watching dozens of people move together beneath the desert sky set the emotional tone for everything that followed.
When Wellness Becomes Entertainment Through Soft Clubbing
As daylight faded, SOLARA shifted seamlessly into its next chapter. Live instrumentation, DJs, and immersive performances transformed the poolside environment into a space where guests could dance, connect, or simply take in the moment.
A DJ set with live instrumentation by J.Handel, Aaron Feld, and Tracyan Rogers brought vibrant Afro house and melodic house energy to the venue. Tracyan Rogers moved seamlessly between saxophone and keytar, creating some of the evening’s most memorable moments, while Kimanari Taiko’s hypnotic drumming brought an unexpected intensity to the performance. The combination of live musicians and DJs transformed the poolside space into an environment where guests naturally moved between dancing, conversation, and simply taking in the atmosphere.

Unlike traditional nightlife environments where energy often builds through excess, SOLARA created momentum through participation. Guests weren’t simply watching entertainment – they were becoming part of the experience. That sense of participation is one reason experiences rooted in soft clubbing are resonating with people looking for nightlife that feels more intentional and community-driven.
The pool became the social centerpiece of the evening. Guests danced barefoot around the water, relaxed beneath the stars, and moved naturally between experiences, including cold plunge and contrasting heat therapy, Watsu Floating Sound Therapy, and the Poolside Oasis Lounge by Shakti Sanctuary.
From an event production perspective, SOLARA’s flow was one of its greatest accomplishments. Rather than creating one central attraction where guests gathered, the event encouraged exploration by offering meaningful experiences throughout the venue.
Wellness Beyond the Buzzword
One of SOLARA’s greatest strengths was its ability to make wellness feel approachable rather than prescriptive. Guests weren’t expected to follow a schedule or participate in every activation. Instead, they were encouraged to create their own experience based on what they needed in the moment. Rather than asking guests to choose between self-care and celebration, the evening reflected the growing appeal of soft clubbing, where movement, music, and mindful experiences naturally coexist.
Throughout the evening, attendees explored everything from Wellness Cocktails by Ritual Zero Proof & Flecha Azul to PEMF, Bio-Frequency Tuning & Aromatherapy by AlignMat, offering moments of both stimulation and restoration.

The Multi-Instrument Immersive Soundbath by Rooted Lounge provided another opportunity for guests to slow down and reconnect, while the combination of movement, music, water therapy, and mindfulness created a balance rarely found in traditional event environments.
As someone who spends much of the year working in fast-paced live entertainment environments, I appreciated this balance. The industry often demands long days, constant decision-making, and high-pressure execution. SOLARA demonstrated that restoration does not always require stepping away from community; in many cases, community itself can become part of the healing process.
Supporting Local Artists and Small Businesses
Beyond its wellness programming, SOLARA served as a platform for Las Vegas’ growing community of artists, makers, and creative entrepreneurs.
The Vendor Market featuring curated goods allowed guests to discover unique products while supporting local creators. Live Painting & Silent Art Auction by Marie Poliak invited attendees to experience the creative process in real time, while the Glow Bar featuring golden adornments and body shimmer added a playful, interactive element to the evening.

These activations encouraged genuine connection. Guests weren’t simply waiting for the next performance – they were meeting artists, discovering businesses, and creating conversations that continued throughout the night.
That community-first approach may ultimately be one of The Ritual Collective’s greatest accomplishments.
Capturing the Energy
Photographing an event like SOLARA presents a unique challenge. Unlike concerts or festivals centered around one main performance, dozens of meaningful moments unfolded simultaneously.
One guest might be experiencing Watsu Floating Sound Therapy by Holly Younglove while another danced beside the pool. Across the venue, artists painted, conversations unfolded in lounge spaces, and groups gathered around wellness activations.

Ryan Loverick, whose photography is featured throughout this piece, captured those relationships between people, place, and experience. His images document spontaneous laughter, quiet moments of reflection, movement, and the warm glow that settled across Bel-Aire Backyard as the desert sun disappeared.
SOLARA wasn’t defined by any one activation; it was defined by how all of those moments worked together.
Community as the Main Attraction
Las Vegas has long been known for spectacle: larger-than-life productions, even brighter lights, and absolutely unforgettable entertainment. SOLARA offers a different perspective.
The event doesn’t reject celebration; it expands on the definition of it. While guests danced and musicians created unforgettable performances, those moments existed alongside intentional opportunities for reflection, creativity, and connection.
That balance reflects a larger shift happening across the wellness and experiential event industries. As concepts like soft clubbing continue to gain momentum, events like SOLARA demonstrate how nightlife can evolve into something that prioritizes connection alongside entertainment. People are increasingly searching for experiences that leave them feeling connected rather than exhausted.
Ending the Evening with Intention
As the evening came to a close, guests gathered beneath the open desert sky for one final shared experience.
Holly Younglove’s sound experience brought the event full circle, replacing energetic dance beats with soothing vibrations and creating a collective moment of stillness after hours of movement and connection.

Reflecting on the experience, Holly shared:
“It was awesome to connect with the community in such a beautiful setting, and to witness people fully trust and surrender into something new. Even surrounded by the energy of a big gathering, they remained open to sound and vibration, reconnecting with themselves in a deeper way through the water. That willingness to be immersed and vulnerable while exploring sound healing is really what it’s all about.”
Many guests remained after the final notes faded, continuing conversations before making their way to the Bel-Aire Lounge after-hours mixer.
More Than an Event
Working in live production has taught me that the most memorable events are not always the ones with the biggest budgets or most elaborate staging. They are the ones that make people feel something.
SOLARA accomplished that by blending wellness, music, art, movement, and community into an experience that felt intentional from beginning to end. In many ways, it offered a thoughtful interpretation of soft clubbing, proving that a memorable night out can be both energizing and restorative.
For Las Vegas locals, The Ritual Collective represents more than an event organizer. It is cultivating a community centered around creativity, well-being, and meaningful human connection.
Sometimes the most memorable night out isn’t the loudest one. Sometimes it’s the one where you leave feeling more energized than when you arrived.
