  • Music Festival Fun! Don’t Miss The Do LaB’s Woogie Weekend

This past summer, Los Angeles’ beloved event production company, The Do LaB, launched a brand new summer music festival born out of their famous Lighting in a Bottle stage – The Woogie.

Returning to the Oak Canyon Ranch campground (home to LiB from 2010-2012) during the weekend of July 10-12, Woogie Weekend paid homage to the birthplace of the Woogie stage. In those years, The Do LaB executed brilliance within simplicity and hosted a maximum of 5,000 people.

Going back to their roots, the Woogie reunited and reconnected to the basic foundation it was built on: “great music, amazing people, and radical self-expression.” Over 30 acts were scheduled to play the Woogie’s two main stages: The Beat and The Hive.

Among those pumping out some of the freshest sounds in electronic music were Adam Freeland, Autograph, Gigamesh, Rüfüs Du Sol, and Lee Burridge.

The hot summer Woogie Weekend was in full swing as one unexpected guest arrived- the rain. Southern California received the strongest 24-hour storm it has seen in over 130 years. Whether patrons brought about the sudden downpour from a subconscious raindance or not, the weekend ultimately turned into #WetWoogie.

But a little water did nothing to infringe on the good times being had. Instead, festival goers answered the situation by floating on Slip n Slide rafts and moving their Easy Up tents to the front of the stages.

When The Do LaB asked attendees to open their minds, check their egos at the door, and enjoy the authentic Woogie ride, they had no idea Woogie Weekend would be in store for an epically wet time.

The unexpected rain became a catalyst for creativity, as attendees transformed puddles into dance floors and rain-soaked outfits into bold fashion statements. The Do LaB embraced the chaos, improvising with glow-in-the-dark art installations that shimmered under stormy skies, adding an ethereal touch to the watery wonderland. As the final beats echoed across the drenched canyon, it was clear that #WetWoogie had not just survived the storm—it had thrived, weaving a new chapter of resilience and magic into The Do LaB’s legacy.

Woogie Weekend Rainy Triumph

Despite the historic downpour, Woogie Weekend’s spirit remained unshaken, proving that great music and community can thrive in any weather. Attendees embraced the chaos, turning the storm into a playful, unforgettable highlight of the festival’s return to its roots. The event solidified its legacy as a celebration of resilience, creativity, and the magic that happens when thousands come together under the Woogie banner.
