Book of the Week: The Giver

Often found on a grade-school reading list, The Giver has always been a popular read for Millennials. Written by Lois Lowry and published in 1993, the story of The Giver follows a 13-year old boy named Jonas in a seemingly utopian society that has cured pain and sadness. If you forget how it ends, pick up a copy now and enjoy the trip!

The Giver was recently adapted into a film, starring Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep. Catch it at a theatre now and compare it to the coveted epic of your youth.


Andrew is a graduate of McDaniel College (’13). He is also an aspiring writer and stand-up comedian. He believes that if you are passionate about something, you should go for it!
