During the week of July 3-9, the fashion world once again turned its attention to the vibrant showcase of talent at Miami Swim Week The Shows. The event, renowned for its celebration of swimwear, attracted fashion enthusiasts who eagerly embraced the runway’s creativity, energy, and unmistakable sense of style. This year was no exception, with a roster of talent that brought creativity, energy, and an undeniable sense of style to the runway. 

The event made waves from day one, featuring the Opening Kickoff Runway Show and Charity Event benefiting The Little Lighthouse Foundation. Despite the occasionally stormy South Florida weather, the largest swim festival in the world, Miami Swim Week The Shows, remained undeterred.

Hosted at the SLS South Beach, designers revealed the latest swimwear trends. With one-shoulder pieces, floral prints, cut-outs, and long sleeve bathing suits in vogue, the styles were as eclectic as they were eye-catching.

Millennial was privileged to attend the wet and wild event and walked away celebrating a whole new appreciation for swim and summer designs! Here are our picks for the top five designers that stole the show:

#1 – Ema Savahl: The Queen of Swimwear

Ema Koja, the designer behind Ema Savahl, kicked off the show with a romantic collection of haute couture swimwear. Her work would make Game of Thrones’ “Mother of Dragons” Daenerys Targaryen exceptionally proud. Each piece was a marvel in itself, from iridescent dragon scale suits to stunning laurel lace lingerie.

But another jaw dropper was Miss Universe Albania herself, Cindy Marina, who stole the spotlight as she graced the runway with her mesmerizing presence. Opening the show, she captivated the audience in a breathtaking “Phoenix Rising” iridescent scaled suit, adorned with a chiffon cape that flowed like majestic wings.

Halfway through she hit the runway with a show-stopping flesh-tone bodysuit embellished with black polka dots and onyx-inspired gemstones, accompanied by a regal floppy hat and enhanced with armband trains that left spectators speechless.

Ema Savahl, renowned as the Queen of swimwear, once again proved her unmatched design prowess through these awe-inspiring creations.

Following Ema Savahl, Amarotto Swimwear kept the momentum going with another couture swim collection. This year’s “Renacer” collection made a striking statement at the fashion forefront, showcasing an exquisite fusion of macrame, fringe, and Western-inspired boots. 

Embracing the current trend of bold Barbie-core aesthetics, her palette of trending reds and pinks exuded an unapologetic allure. Among the standout pieces that commanded attention was a cream macrame bodysuit, adorned with a captivating fringe shoulder cape, which reigned supreme and exuded an air of elegance.

Transporting us to a realm of aquatic enchantment, there was a green mermaid-inspired net skirt, beautifully accentuated by a glistening gold belt and chain.

Day 2 of Miami Swim Week The Shows commenced with a resplendent display of African-made resort and swimwear by the renowned label Liberty & Justice.

The runway came alive with a distinctive collection of above-the-elbow swim-ready gloves, a strikingly unique and elegant addition to the fashion landscape. Stealing the spotlight were the show-stopping solid bright color capes and skirts that effortlessly commanded attention.
