TikTok Influencer, Josh Rincon, Finds Money In The Fine Print

Josh Rincon is a financial influencer with a passion for educating his generation. He has amassed an impressive following on social media, with over 500,000 followers on TikTok and Instagram combined. What’s even more impressive is that he’s achieved this in less than one year!
Josh is also the Program Director of Avance Latino, a nonprofit that focuses on teaching financial education literacy at schools, churches, and local communities. His mission is to empower people to build generational wealth through financial education in an entertaining yet relatable manner. Josh’s wit and passion for his work make him a powerful advocate for wealth management.
Millennial sat down with Josh Rincon at Future Proof Wealth Festival to learn more about his journey as a financial influencer.
How did your upbringing guide your career path in finance?
I was raised in a loving christian household with two amazing hard working parents. Both my parents are immigrants from Mexico whom did their very best to ensure we always had what we needed & because of that I am now a very hard working and purpose driven person. The love and support I received as a child formed me into the person I am today.

What made you decide to create a TikTok channel for money hacks?
The main reason I am a financial influencer today is because of the nonprofit my father started, Avance Latino. It was there that I learned the value of financial education and wealth management. It also helped that I was always making videos with my brothers. Being on camera was always natural for me, and my older brother supported me when it came to making videos. Combining the two on TikTok just made sense.
What is the best business advice that you’ve been given?
The best advice I’ve received is from my brother in law. He taught me the importance of having an abundance mindset. When you view your life in abundance rather than scarcity, you will never be the same. The decisions you make and how you tackle obstacles with an abundance mindset will lead you to success. Transmit a mindset of abundance. Stop living in scarcity.

Explain what it takes to be a financial influencer.
Although posting videos and photos on social media seems like an easy thing to do, there is so much more happening behind the scenes that no one gets to see. The hardest thing about being an influencer is the importance of being consistent. It sounds so easy yet it’s the hardest thing. You will have highs and lows, you gotta keep going, think long term.
How does the “off camera” Josh Rincon remain positive on a daily basis?
I am a person of faith, and I integrate that into every area of my life. When it comes to remaining positive, I try to always remind myself of all the blessings in my life. I truly believe everything I have is because of God and I always make sure to show my gratefulness for the life I have. A grateful heart will cure any negative thoughts.
What would you like to see happen for your brand over the next year?
I would like to hear impacting stories of people who became empowered through my content, and I’d like to provide more resources to my audience to help them improve their financial literacy. The ultimate goal is to help people build generational wealth!
