Dhairya Pujara is the founder and CEO of Ycenter, a higher education social enterprise solving global challenges in Africa and India. He attended Drexel University in Philadelphia where he attained his Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. After his graduation, Dhairya got a job in healthcare IT which he quit on his first day at 5.30 pm to follow his dreams. He got an opportunity to lead his university’s international service program in Mozambique for 5 months.
In Feb 2013, after returning from his trip in Africa, Dhairya realized that working with communities in a rural hospital taught him more than his 6 years of classroom engineering education. Immersing in the community, overcoming language barrier, organizing training sessions for doctors and organizing the first ever TEDx conference inspired Dhairya to start-up Ycenter – giving young college Millennials a global experience outside of the classroom while working on social impact projects in Africa and India.
Dhairya Pujara has been featured in Philadelphia Business Journal, Huffington Post, TEDx blog and has appeared as a public speaker on Entrepreneurship, Internationalization of higher education and Global healthcare at Wharton, Drexel and recently at the Social Enterprise World Forum in South Korea.
