Accommodations at Sea Oats
The bedrooms at Sea Oats, a luxury Captiva Island vacation rental, offer opulent accommodations that are perfect for couples, families with children, and even those needing limited mobility access. The main house provides access to perfectly designed shared spaces, both indoor and outdoor, while the secluded bedrooms offer guests upscale lodging, creating an ultimate island escape that gives guests comfort, quiet, and privacy.
All of the main bedrooms are decorated in bright tropical colors that give guests island vibes from the moment they walk in the door. From king-size beds to queen-size beds to twin trundle beds, there are bedroom options for everyone on your guest list.
Each of the bedrooms was inspired by the Greek Islands and is rightfully named so. Bedrooms include the Santorini bedroom, the Milos bedroom, the Mykonos bedroom, the Sifnos bedroom, the Hydra bedroom, the Crete bedroom, the Corfu bedroom, and the Kos bedroom.
Each room includes plush towels and linens, an HDTV, high-speed WiFi, and USB plugs. Bathrooms, whether attached or unattached to the bedrooms, all harbor shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a blow dryer.
For guests craving a little more privacy, the Sea Oats Luxury Estate offers a guest cottage with three bedrooms, private ensuite bathrooms, and a living room. There is also a microwave, minifridge, and laundry facilities, as well as extra storage for any beach items.
Dining at Sea Oats
One of the best parts about this Captiva Island vacation rental is that it comes with a fully equipped chef’s kitchen. Airy, spacious, and big enough to comfortably fit 30 people, the Sea Oats chef’s kitchen is the perfect place for those who love to cook or eat. Host a cocktail or mocktail hour at the bar, then head into the kitchen for dinner.
Whether a corporate buffet, a raucous family reunion, or a romantic table set for two, the Sea Oats kitchen can do it all.
With ample indoor and outdoor seating, the Sea Oats kitchen comes with state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances and plenty of quartz counter space for whipping up appetizers, meals, and desserts. Ask your concierge to book a private bartender and chef, or if you prefer to cook meals yourself, have the concierge stock the bar and kitchen before your arrival. Go ahead and leave the grocery shopping to them.
Not sure where to eat? Ask your concierge for their favorite island restaurant recommendations. While staying at Sea Oats, I was told to check out the Green Flash and Mucky Duck. There are even a few local spots that claim to be the inspiration for Jimmy Buffett’s famous tune, “Cheeseburger in Paradise.” Plus, who doesn’t love a good burger at the beach?
Things to Do at Sea Oats
This Captiva Island vacation rental offers easy access to Southwest Florida’s many attractions, including Sanibel Island and Naples. However, this luxury estate has plenty of activities to keep you busy during your stay.
Head to the beach across the street for a long walk along the shoreline and do some seashelling. Captiva and Sanibel are known for their top-notch shelling, so be sure to pack some bubble wrap so you can safely bring home your seaside treasures. While you are there, be on the lookout for wildlife, including dolphins, manatees, and pelicans.
If you are a shopper, head into Sanibel and visit Periwinkle Place, the site of the very first Chico’s location, established in 1983.
Some favorite activities of past Sea Oats Luxury Estate guests include a sunset cruise or a visit to Sanibel’s J.N. “Ding” Darling Wildlife Refuge. I highly recommend a Moke rental. They are so cute and so fun to cruise around the island in. Scoot around town in style as these vehicles give the ultimate island vibes?
Work with your assigned concierge and book a private chef, curate excursions and local tours, or schedule sporting lessons. Your concierge can also help to arrange eco-tours, beach yoga, and on-site wine or spirit tastings. They can even hire a boat tour or fishing charter and set up spa services.
Your concierge can also arrange a housekeeper and facilitate transportation if needed.
Getting to Sea Oats, Captiva Island Vacation Rentals
The closest way to get to Sea Oats is to fly to Southwest International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. From there, it is about a 30-40 minute drive through the mainland over the Sanibel Causeway, which connects Sanibel Island to the mainland. Then you will drive through Sanibel and arrive in Captiva.
Another option is to fly to a farther airport, Punta Gorda Airport (PGD), which is about 60 miles from Captiva. Though farther away and a smaller airport, PGD offers more affordable flights.
